Subway opened its 2,500th store in Keynsham, Banes (UK), on August 4, unveiling its new concept: the Subway Fresh Forward design.

Following the global launch of the new format in Manchester in March, the store near Bristol is the second pilot featuring the design to open in the UK. This location features a bright new color palette and a revamped fresh veggie display as a focal point, building on the brand’s iconic salad and veggie serve.

The new pilot store will create seven full-time and two part-time local jobs. Earlier this year, the Subway brand announced plans to increase the number of stores in the UK and Ireland to 3,000 by 2020, creating around 5,000 new jobs.

Owned by family franchisees Stephen and Sue Pasco, the Keynsham store is one of 16 Subway stores they operate, employing 145 people across Bristol, Gloucester, Somerset and Wiltshire.

Sue Pasco explained: “The modern design will offer customers more of what they love about Subway stores – highlighting our bread baked in store daily, cookies and some of our veggies in modern displays – whilst offering great value and fresh, varied menu options.”
