Modern Bakery Moscow 2018: A Surge in Global Companies Exhibiting

The novelties and innovation in the industry will be again presented in the Russian capital, at the international trade fair for bakery and confectionery for Russia and the CIS countries – Modern Bakery Moscow – held March 12-15, at IEC Expocenter.

This year, an avalanche of global companies have signed up to exhibit for the first time at Modern Bakery Moscow, at the 24th edition of the Russian trade show. Exhibitors will traditionally demonstrate the latest technologies and products for food processing, ingredients and raw materials, packaging, shop fitting, refrigeration technologies and hygiene.

Worldwide technologies

Participation has already been confirmed by Russian and international market leaders from 21 countries: Austria, Belgium, China, Cyprus, Czech Republic, France Germany, Greece, Iran, Italy, Lebanon, Lithuania, Netherlands, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Korea, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, and the UK.

Among exhibitors, there will be leading companies such as: Backaldrin, Berner Debag, Diosna-Miwe, J4, König Machinen, Ladenbau, LESAFFRE, NHL Group, Revent, Rondo, SEMZ, Shebekinsky plant, Solpro Tecnopool, Voskhod, and  Wachtel.

New exhibitors

A series of new companies announced their presence in Moscow for this new edition of the trade fair. Among new exhibitors, CSM Bakery Solutions offers a wide product range to its clients form over 100 countries worldwide. CSM will present ingredients for the bakery market: different grain mixtures, and a wide range of ingredients for confectionery processing – dry mixes, creams and coatings. The stand will also dispose different types of frozen products – donuts, cookies, brownies, and muffins. The visitors will have a chance to talk to the specialists and get the answers to their questions.

Russian company DIVO (Wonder), a producer and supplier of bakery and confectionery equipment, will also be present at Modern Bakery Moscow. The company offers a wide range of equipment. It officially presents brands as Ing. Polin & C S.p.A. Italy (Mixer, Ostali, Ram, Polin), Gostol-Gopan d.o.o. in Slovenia, Hoba in the Netherlands.

VMI, a new exhibitor for the Russian trade fair as well, offers a wide range of kneading equipment for any type of bakeries and confectioneries. They are known for adapting capacity for specific production processes.

Tromp Group, which will be represented by its three brands: Tromp Bakery Equipment, VanderPol Waffle Systems and Den Boer Baking Systems, will present equipment lines for rolled bread, waffles, puff pastry, pizza, cakes and pies.

Another new exhibitor, Tekhle, is based in Saint Petersburg. The company initially provided industrial services at launch 26 years ago, and has since also started its own production. Its product range was divided into four main lines: trolley furnace, trolley for euro-trays, wavy and flat sheets, baking forms for toasts and “boat”-shaped forms, non-stick coating for sheets, pans, forms, application and recovery.

Trends at Modern Bakery 2018

Modern Bakery Lab is the area where new participants will present their companies, a laboratory of ideas, and a platform of thematic solutions that will be interesting both for professionals and for beginners. About 100sqm are dedicated to the solutions for producers of bakery and confectionery products.

PackLab – packaging laboratory offers packaging solutions “from idea to the shelves”.  New ideas, materials, and technologies can be found at the stand “Laboratory of Packaging”.

IngredLab – laboratory of ingredients demonstrates raw solutions for the bakery and confectionery market. From basic ingredients to improvers – the consumer will find everything that is necessary to produce a quality product.

ProLab – professional laboratory equipment will help to find solutions that ensure consistently high quality of the final product.

Fringe program

The extensive fringe program became an integral part of Modern Bakery Moscow. Annually, the trade fair comprises numerous events such as: master-classes, seminars and contests, organized with the support of leading industry associations and research institutes, as well as manufacturers of chocolate, edible fats and oils.

B2B meetings “Bakery and confectionery equipment”

The format of this meetings offer the companies the opportunity to present their knowledge and technology to possible customers. It represents a negotiation between retail and HoReCa buyers with the suppliers of bakery and confectionery equipment.
Modern Bakery Moscow is officially supported by government and professional unions.  Among them the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, the leading Russian industry associations and unions (the Russian Union of Bakers, the Union of Producers of Food Ingredients), the Research Institute of Bakery Industry, the Research Institute of Confectionery Industry, and leading universities of the food industry.

Trade fair visitors

Around 76% of visitors consider Modern Bakery to be one of the main trade fairs in the sector, and 35% of visitors do not visit other trade shows in the sector. One more novelty supporting visitors in their trip is the official Modern Bakery Moscow mobile app. By downloading the application, visitors can follow the updates in the program and plan meetings, but also get push notifications.
