| Busy consumers no longer need to skip breakfast with the launch of a new on-the-go product from a UK bakery.
A new range of "Breakfast Bites" have been created by Cornish bake off specialists Crantock Bakery following requests from retailers wanting to offer a broader range of products.
Crantock Bakery's Becky Hornabrook, who created the product, said, "Recent research shows that one in five people are too busy to eat breakfast before they leave home in the morning.
"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and our customers told us there was demand for a smaller product for people who are picking up breakfast on the way to work. At 150 grams, the Breakfast Bites are the perfect way to start your day."
Two versions of the product are available. The sausage, cheese and beans Breakfast Bite combines baked beans, slices of sausage, cheddar cheese and seasoning in a D-shaped flaky pastry case.
The bacon, cheese and beans Breakfast Bite contains baked beans, pieces of smoked bacon, cheddar cheese and seasoning.
The new products join Crantock's growing breakfast range which already includes the popular Full English Breakfast Pasty, and turnovers available in sausage and cheese, and cheese and bacon.
Breakfast Bites are available now for trade and wholesale customers in cases of 36, priced 55p per unit/£19.80 per case.
