Written by admin
Frozen food firm, Aunt Bessie's, UK, are considering applying for Yorkshire puddings to be granted protected status.

If granted the British Sunday lunch staple would be granted the same special status as Parma ham, Stilton cheese and Champagne.

Furthermore, every Yorkshire pudding purchased will be quality assured and produced in the northern county.

Aunt Bessie's produces 20 million Yorkshire puddings each week.
Clare Field, Marketing Director at Aunt Bessie's said: "Aunt Bessie's is the world's largest brand of frozen baked and ready to bake Yorkshire puddings. We employ over 350 staff and can produce more than 20 million puddings a week from our kitchens in East Yorkshire. We believe the local heritage of Yorkshire Puddings should be protected for future generations."
