Nestle Proposes Pay Rise to Stave-off Strike Threat PDF Print E-mail
Written by admin
Nestle UK has proposed a 1 per cent pay rise to staff at its York factory in the hope of avoiding industrial action.

The firm had originally planned to have a pay freeze at the Fawdon, Newcastle and York, factories.

But following union moves to ballot consultant members for strike action, the multinational re-thought the decision.

Nestle met representatives from GMB, Unite and Usdaw to offer the meagre rise to basic pay.

The union acknowledged the ‘symbolic gesture' but was yet to call time on the ballot proposal for industrial action.
