A WORKER was crushed to death in an accident at a Nabisco Biscuit plant in Chicago, U.S.

Investigators say a 62-year-old worker was asphyxiated in Wednesday's accident at the bakery plant.

Authorities say Patrick Lynch was injured while working at a machine that prepares pallets for loading. Kraft Food officials declined to give further details regarding the incident.

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating and a Kraft spokeswoman said the company is conducting an internal investigation.

According to the OSHA Web site, the Nabisco plant has been cited for safety and health violations in the past five years, including two serious violations.
