Russia's wheat exports fell by 15 per cent to 11.825 million tonnes in January-October, the Federal Customs Service said on Tuesday.

In financial terms, the exports fell to U.S. $2.059 billion in from $2.277 billion a year earlier.

Of the total, wheat exports to countries outside of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) were at 11.474 million tonnes or $1.998 billion in financial terms.

Russia introduced a ban on grain exports on August 15 in an attempt to reduce grain prices during the recent drought. It is due to end on July 1 next year.

Last year, Russia's wheat exports rose 43.5 per cent on the year to 16.821 million tonnes.
