Yeast prices raised by AB Mauri Fleischmann PDF Print E-mail
Written by admin

AB Mauri Fleischmann is raising its prices on all yeast products and some bakery ingredients in the United States and Canada from February 14, or as contracts expire.

The North American company say the reason for the price rises are due to input cost increases, including corn and molasses substrates, electricity, transportation and other key raw materials.

Cream yeast prices will increase 2c per lb, as is, compressed yeast will increase 4c per lb, and dry yeast will increase 6c per lb. Actual price changes on bakery ingredients will vary depending on product and delivery location, the company said.

"The considerable cost increases we have absorbed to date, plus near-term forecasted increases means that price increases are unavoidable," said Greg Strauss, vice-president of sales and marketing.
