Palsgaard expanding opportunities in Asia PDF Print E-mail

Danish ingredients maker Palsgaard has unveiled plans to construct a large, state-of-the-art emulsifier factory in Asia.

According to Scandasia.com, the new facility will have an annual capacity of at least 20,000 tonnes, adding substantially to the output of a Palsgaard's existing application centre in Singapore.

The new factory will also be located in Singapore or its neighbour state Johor, Malaysia, depending on the outcomes of preliminary negotiations.

Palsgaard chairman Birger Brix told the news provider: "In order to satisfy the increasing needs and demands of our customers for high-quality emulsifiers and stabilisers produced in the Asian region, this is a natural move forward."

Last week, General Mills and Nestle opened a brand new innovation centre in Switzerland, as part of the two firms' joint venture Cereal Partners Worldwide.

The $50 million (£31 million) facility is expected to help the companies develop improvements in the nutrition, quality and taste of their products.
