UK packaging company doubles production capacity PDF Print E-mail

Sustained investment at Chevler, the UK's leading manufacturer of baking cases and tulip muffin wraps, has resulted in the food packaging company doubling its production capacity.

Chevler is now able to produce over 100 million tulip muffin wraps a year which, if you laid them end-to-end, would stretch from London to New York.

Over the past 18 months Chevler has invested heavily in new equipment which has been specially made to its own specification, expanded its production facilities and improved production processes in order to cope with increasing demand from food manufacturers and commercial cake makers in the UK and Europe.

Managing director Stuart Whelan said: "We've come a long way since we developed our first prototype mould back in 2006. We are now running high speed and highly efficient third generation specialist production lines built to our own designs which mean they are also highly accurate. We are now making over one billion baking cases a year in some 600 shapes and sizes at our two facilities in Hengoed and after adding weekend shifts the lines are running virtually 24 hours a day, seven days a week."
