GreenPalm passes key milestone as 2 millionth certificate traded PDF Print E-mail
Written by admin

GreenPalm, the certificate trading programme that enables businesses to support sustainable palm oil production, is celebrating the trade of its 2 millionth certificate.

This milestone has been achieved in just over two and a half years, enabling palm oil producers to earn over $15m of additional income for operating sustainably.

Endorsed by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), the GreenPalm programme has drawn international support from many of the world's best known food, cosmetics and personal care businesses including: Campbell Soup, Frieslandcampina, Henkel, J&J, Kellogg, Kraft, Mars, Nestle, Oriflame, Premier Foods, Unilever, United Biscuits, M&S and Waitrose.

GreenPalm's general manager, Bob Norman, says reaching two million certificates in such a short time, proves that there's a growing recognition by businesses who use palm oil that driving positive change is not only about buying sustainable palm oil for their own products and claiming to be clean and green - it's about changing the entire palm oil industry from the very centre.
