Limagrain receives fourth award for processing unit PDF Print E-mail

Limagrain Cereales Ingredients (LCI) has achieved its fourth British Retail Consortium 'grade A' award to complete BRC certification of all its processing units.

"Our DAFA Bakery ingredients production and mixing workshop underwent the BRC (British Retail Consortium) audit in October 2011 and was awarded Grade A," say Anne Lionnet and Thierry Desgrousilliers, quality managers at LCI.

"This successful result means that all four of our industrial food sites are now BRC Grade A certified."

The DAFA Bakery ingredients workshop joins the MCT corn processing factory, the westhove factory specialising in the production of masa flour and functional flours, and the company's extrusion factory covering the product design, production and shipping of LCI's extruded products and pellets.

The very rigorous BRC certification was initially developed in the UK as a result of demand from the retail industry.

It covers fields such as production, quality, food safety and training. It represents the result of a great deal of ongoing work on the part of all parties within this sector.

"This fourth successful BRC audit is a guarantee for our clients of our production best practices and our effective management of food safety. It also underlines LCI's process of continual improvement as we prioritise the quality of our products through the management of the LCI traceable production process and our Quality Management System," adds Anne Lionnet.
