Bakery set for Boost with Massive Multi-Million Euro Factory PDF Print E-mail
Bakery Glocken Bäckerei is set to more than double its output as building begins on a new €80 million factory in Bergkirchen near Dachau, Germany.

Part of the Cologne-based Rewe Group, Glocken Bäckerei expects to increase production of their baked goods by 70 per cent once the 30,000m2 factory is built.

The group anticipates creating 400 jobs with 400,000 rolls, 120,000 loaves of bread, 100,000 ciabatta loaves, 80,000 baguettes, and 100,000 loaves of toast bread produced daily.

Furthermore the factory is predicted to reduce energy consumption, when compared with conventional industrial bakeries, by 40 per cent through using heat recapture technology that relies on district heating from a waste-fired combination power and heating plant.
