Patagonia Provisions, the food and beverage division of outdoor clothing company Patagonia, has acquired Moonshot, a snack brand that focuses on plant-forward ingredients grown using regenerative agriculture and organic practices. Moonshot’s main ingredient, wheat, is traceable to the farm and field, with farmers, millers, and manufacturers all located within 100 miles of each other. This results in a lower carbon footprint compared to industry standard practices.
The acquisition aligns with Patagonia Provisions’ values and mission to source ingredients that rebuild soil, protect ocean ecosystems, and preserve the environment.
Moonshot, which produces and sells carbon-neutral crackers, has achieved impressive growth in recent years by offering delicious and nutritious snacks with a focus on sustainability.
“We are thrilled to have Moonshot join our team at Patagonia Provisions,” said Paul Lightfoot, general manager of Patagonia Provisions. “Their values and mission are strongly aligned with ours, and we are excited to work together to continue to make a positive impact on the planet through regenerative agriculture and sustainable food practices.”
Moonshot’s founder, Julia Collins, is also excited about the acquisition, stating that she founded Moonshot with the vision of using the power of food to help tackle climate change. She believes joining Patagonia Provisions, which recently made the Earth its only shareholder, is a spectacular path forward for their mission, team, and climatarian community.
