Bakery Equipment Manufacturers and Allieds (BEMA) has elected new members to both its executive committee and board of directors at its 2017 convention. Don Osborne (pictured), team leader, Intralox, was elected chair of the board of directors.

Osborne joined Intralox 15 years ago and spent the last six years outside the US, managing food-related territories in China, Japan and Korea.

“The industry has provided so much for me and my family that it is an honor to give back some of my time, talents and resources,” Osborne said.

For its centennial anniversary year, BEMA’s tradition of giving back and its investments in the future will be prominent in the planned celebrations. BEMA leadership has adopted the theme of “giving back” as its focus for the year, to underline this priority.

In addition to Osborne, BEMA also elected Paul Lattan of Sosland Publishing as first vice-chairman, Mark Hotze of Corbion as second vice-chairman, Rick Hoskins of Colborne Foodbiotics as third vice-chairman and Allen Wright of Hansaloy as immediate past chairman.

Mike Pierce (president, The Austin Co.), Mark Podl (CEO, Doran Scales) and Jason Ward (CEO, AMF Bakery Systems) were elected to their first term on BEMA’s board of directors. Dennis Gunnell of Formost Fuji also joined the board as BEMA’s representative on the IBIE Committee. He will serve as the vice-chairman for IBIE 2019.

Returning to the board are Tim Cook of Shick Solutions, Mike Day of Banner-Day, Mike Gude of Sosland Publishing, Jay Hardy of AB Mauri, Clay Miller of Burford Corp., Patrice Painchaud of Rexfab, Inc., and Jim Warren of Reading Bakery Systems.
