ARYZTA Expands French Distribution Network With SEB Acquisition

ARYZTA has expanded its distribution footprint in France through the acquisition of Société Européenne des Beurres (SEB), a regional frozen products distributor serving south-west France.

The Swiss bakery group announced on 23 June that its French subsidiary, Coup de Pates, has acquired 100% of SEB, a company established in 1973 that specialises in the distribution of frozen products in the Bordeaux region and surrounding areas.

SEB has been an exclusive independent distributor of ARYZTA, Coup de Pates and La Carte d’Hubert branded products since 1991. The transaction brings the long-standing distribution partner into ARYZTA’s direct ownership and is expected to strengthen the company’s national distribution platform in France.

According to ARYZTA, the acquisition will support further organic growth in south-west France, a region centred on Bordeaux, while reinforcing Coup de Pates’ position in the country’s frozen bakery and foodservice distribution market.

“The SEB acquisition consolidates Coup de Pates as the regional frozen distributor in south-west France and provides an excellent platform to deliver further strong organic growth for the French business,” said Urs Jordi, Chairman and Interim Group CEO of ARYZTA.

Coup de Pates is one of ARYZTA’s key operations in France, supplying bakery, pastry, catering and foodservice professionals. The addition of SEB strengthens the company’s regional logistics and distribution capabilities in a strategically important market.

Based in Schlieren, Switzerland, ARYZTA is an international bakery company focused on convenience bakery products, with operations across Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. The company is listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange.
