ARYZTA Expands with Western Australian Facility
ARYZTA, an international bakery company specializing in the convenience and bake-off frozen bakery sector, finalized the opening of their new Western Australian facility in Perth on August 26.
The company invested over EUR40m in the new bakery, aiming to generate between 110 and 130 local jobs in the future. The construction of it started initially in 2023 in the Peel Business Park outside of Perth, now being fully operational. The facility’s building was finalized within budget and on schedule.
Western Australia’s business development agency provided economic support in the form of investment-ready industrial land and infrastructure to attract the food industry and generate local employment opportunities.
The new Perth bakery will reportedly enhance ARYZTA’s ESG credentials in Australia by removing an estimated 1.7 million food miles currently involved in transporting bakery items to customers in Western Australia from ARYZTA’s existing two facilities in New South Wales and Victoria.
The investment is also said to lower ARYZTA’s local carbon footprint by over 700 tons of CO2 annually. In addition, the availability of high-quality local raw materials from Western Australia will minimize food miles and enhance sustainability further. The new facility will be largely powered by a local renewable microgrid.
