On September 9, Grupo Bimbo reported a 73% growth in regenerative agriculture footprint by the end of 2025, when they surpassed 500,000 hectares cultivated under the practices, compared to the 2024 statistics, when about 290,000 hectares were cultivated.
Grupo Bimbo states that their regenerative agriculture strategy is built on three principles, which are improving the soil’s health, strengthening biodiversity, and supporting farming communities during their transition to the new procedures. Reportedly, more than 570 farmers have already been trained under this model with the help of collaborators such as the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center and strategic milling partners.
Alejandra Vázquez, Global Sustainability Director at Grupo Bimbo, stated: “Regenerative agriculture reminds us that everything we do begins in the field. Every hectare added under this model strengthens soil health, supports farmers’ resilience, and helps secure the availability of our key ingredients for future generations.”
The company ended the report declaring that the aim is to have 100% of its key ingredients come from land cultivated under this model by 2050.
