Polysense Opens First US Office in Chicago to Expand Food Manufacturing Operations

Polysense, a specialist in AI-powered quality control and process optimization for food manufacturing, has opened its first US office in Chicago, Illinois, as part of its international expansion.

The new office will serve as the company’s hub for the US and Canada, supporting manufacturers in the potato, bakery, and fruit and vegetable processing sectors. Polysense already works with major food manufacturers in Europe, with its deployments having expanded into the US and Middle East.

The Chicago opening follows the company’s USD10.7m seed funding round, which closed in July 2026. The new local team will support existing customers while developing Polysense’s presence across the North American market.

Polysense said the expansion comes as food manufacturers face increasing pressure on margins, alongside ongoing labor shortages and rising demands around food safety and production efficiency.

The company’s AI-based technology is designed to automate inspection and process-adjustment tasks that have traditionally relied on manual intervention and experienced operators. According to Polysense, this can help manufacturers reduce waste, maintain product quality and protect production yields.

Yarne De Munck, CEO and Co-founder of Polysense, stated: “Food manufacturing is global, and we are focused on the biggest companies in the industry. Being close to our customers matters: it means we can see what’s happening on their lines and help them act on it immediately, not from another continent, […] Opening in Chicago lets us do that in the US, and it’s the natural next step after this funding round.”

The company said its US team will follow the same customer-focused approach used in Europe, with employees working closely with manufacturers and their production lines.

Over the next six to 12 months, the Chicago team will focus on expanding Polysense’s customer base in the US and Canada, developing a repeatable sales and delivery model and establishing an operational link between North American customers and the company’s delivery team in Belgium.
