SABAROT claimed the SIAL Innovation Gold Award for its vegetable patty preparations, which reflect the growing consumer demand for plant-based proteins. As the global food industry seeks to reduce its environmental footprint, SABAROT is contributing with its three versatile vegetable patty recipes: quinoa and bulgur with sun vegetables, Indian lentil trio, and split peas with basil. Designed to meet the rising appetite for natural, plant-based foods without relying on processed substitutes, this ready-to-make product is prepared in just eight minutes with the simple addition of hot water. The Jury commended the practicality of this innovation, emphasizing its ease of use and alignment with sustainable food trends.
SILVER PRIZE: Super Greens: Moringa
Boost IT’s Super Greens Moringa juice earned the Silver Award for its unique incorporation of moringa, often hailed as the ‘miracle tree,’ into a convenient juice box. The drink, a blend of moringa, mint, and apple, brings the numerous nutritional benefits of moringa to a wider audience. Traditionally available as a powder or supplement, moringa is rich in protein, calcium, iron, and vitamins A and C. The Jury was impressed by the product’s appeal as a mass-market drink, offering a nutritious alternative to standard juices with a thicker texture and broader health benefits.
BRONZE PRIZE: Zero-Carb Sushi Bites – Ready-to-Serve 15-pack
Finnish company KING Konjac won the Bronze Award for its innovative Zero-Carb Sushi Bites, a low-carb, ready-to-serve sushi option that swaps out traditional rice for konjac, a plant known for its low-calorie, high-fibre content. With the rise of low-carb and low-calorie diets, konjac has gained popularity in pasta and diet foods, and now KING Konjac has successfully introduced it to the sushi segment. This convenient, pre-formed sushi base offers a gluten-free, satiating alternative, presenting restaurateurs with an opportunity to tap into the growing health-conscious food market.
