The ABA released details regarding their upcoming NextGenBaker Leadership Forum that will take place from September 15 to 17, in Washington, D.C. Rising executive leaders from commercial baking and supplier companies are invited to attend, the event aiming to equip them with the necessary skills, relationships and industry perspectives for their businesses to grow.
Josh Bickford, NextGenBaker Co-Chair and President of Clyde’s Donuts, stated: “Developing strong leaders isn’t optional, it’s essential to the future of every baking company and our industry as a whole, […] NextGenBaker gives future industry executives the opportunity to broaden their perspective, build meaningful relationships across the industry, and return to their companies with new ideas and greater confidence. Investing in your people today strengthens your organization for tomorrow.”
The forum will focus on four main points of discussion, such as professional development, which touches on leadership skills, public policy engagement, to teach about how current public policy decisions impact the baking industry, relationship building, and industry trends education, which will be about trends, their impact on businesses, and how to use them to grow.
The event will also provide public policy sessions where the attendees will be able to engage with policymakers on Capitol Hill.
Jill Stang, NextGenBaker Co-Chair and Vice President of Sales and Business Development of Lesaffre, said: “NextGenBaker is one of the best investments a company can make in its future leaders, […] Participants will leave with stronger leadership skills, a broader industry perspective, and relationships they’ll rely on throughout their careers. When companies empower their emerging talent with opportunities like this, they strengthen not only their own organizations, but the entire baking community.”
