At the beginning of July 2026, Handtmann hosted Ammerbucher Design Talk 2026 at the Handtmann Forum in Biberach, Germany. The event gave the participants the chance to network and discuss strategies, innovations, and solutions with fellow attendees.
The event was attended by managing directors, thought leaders, and technology experts from a wide range of industries, a highlight of the event being Dr. Mark Betzold’s presentation, which introduced the “Morpheus” study. The study refers to how companies can make robust decisions today regarding technologies, products, and business models whose success often only becomes apparent many years later, according to Handtmann. Through Morpheus, the company has established a systematic approach to evaluating future scenarios at an early stage and using these insights to shape its product and innovation strategy, focusing on future customer needs, digitalization, automation, AI, and sustainable value creation.
Dr. Mark Betzold, CTO/COO of Handtmann Processing, stated: “The future does not belong to the companies with the greatest number of ideas, but to those that make the right decisions early on. With Morpheus, we are creating a framework that helps us better understand tomorrow’s customer needs and translate those insights into innovations that deliver real value. Our ambition is not to predict the future, but to actively shape it together with our customers, partners, and employees,”
Another innovation focus was presented by Dirk Seckler, Co-CEO of the Light Metal Casting division. Using the example of the Handtmann Light Performance Wheels, he demonstrated how technological expertise, a strong customer focus, and the willingness to rethink established solutions can lead to innovative products and unlock new market opportunities, reports Handtmann.
