Millers for Nutrition Holds Annual Meeting at MC Mühlenchemie’s FlourWorld Museum

MC Mühlenchemie hosted the annual meeting of the Millers for Nutrition coalition at its FlourWorld Museum in Wittenburg, Germany, bringing together representaives from the coalition’s strategic fortification partners, ecosystem partners, and the Gates Foundation to discuss ways to expand access to fortified staple foods worldwide. 

The meeting followed the Hamburg Sustainability Conference, which took place on June 29-30, where Millers for Nutrition joined governments, businesses, multilateral organisations, and development partners in endorsing the Hamburg Call to Action on Catalyzing LargeScale Food Fortification to End Child Malnutrition by 2030. 

Through the call to action, the coalition reaffirmed its commitment to expanding access to fortified staple foods through collaborative and market-based approaches.The annual meeting provided an opportunity for its partners to discuss how stronger cooperation and market-based solutions can help accelerate food fortification and address global nutrition challenges. 

The event was held at the FlourWorld Museum, which is dedicated to the cultural history of flour, one of the world’s oldest staple foods. MC Mühlenchemie is a founding partner of the Millers for Nutrition coalition, which brings together stakeholders across the milling, nutrition, development and food industries to support the wider adoption of staple food fortification. 

The coalition’s work focuses on strengthening partnerships and supporting scalabe approaches that can help improve the nutritional value of staple foods and contribute to reducing malnutrition worldwide.
