Fi Asia is preparing to bring together leading international and domestic food professionals from all over the world, between September 13-15, in Bangkok, Thailand. This year’s show has prepared an interesting agenda for bakers in its section of technical seminars.

Seminar Theatre

Fi Asia will organize an extensive free seminar program for the show’s visitors, highlighting the latest industry trends.

The agenda includes technical seminars such as “Premium Ingredients; “LENTEIN Complete”, introducing a novel protein ingredient; “Enzyme technology” leading to improved bakery performance; “Application of Sugar Estar” for wheat flour products; “From function to application: alternative food ingredients conference” and “High-efficiency Bakery”.

Food Trends in Asia

Fi Asia is the ideal platform for large and small businesses to increase their exposure in the ASEAN region and drive their business, with 25% annual growth in exhibitor numbers over the past four years. The Southeast Asian market is booming, with a population of over 625 million. 

Innova Market Insights will present its top 10 major trends for 2017 at the Innovation Zone. Three of these trends, detailed below, are “clean supreme”, “disruptive green” and “body in tune”. The research company will also host daily presentations on the biggest trends in the industry.

Clean Supreme: New food product launches with clean label claims continue to grow in the Asia market. No additives/preservatives is the top clean label claim with a CAGR of +9% for the last five years.  The GMO free claim has recorded the fastest growth, with a CAGR of +27% during this period.

Disruptive Green: Plant milks, meat substitutes and vegan offerings have moved rapidly into the mainstream.

Body in Tune: Consumers are experimenting with free-from products and specific diets, such as Paleo and Foodmap. Their decisions are often based on the perceptions about what they believe are good or bad, and not on science. They are increasing the intake of ingredients that they consider healthy, such as proteins and probiotics. 

Guided Innovation Tours

Visitors at Fi Asia 2017 can follow a free topic-focused tour at their own speed. These tours will allow them to find out all trend and developments in four trending topics in the Food & Beverage industry: “Reduction & Reformulation (less sugar, fat, salt)”, “Anti-Aging from Nutrition”, “Sport Nutrition” and “Functional ingredients for disease management”.

Food Ingredients Asia Conference

The Food Ingredients Asia Conference, organized in collaboration with the Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR), will take place on September 14, from 09 to 17:00 in room GH 203.

The theme of this edition is “Natural Functional Ingredients: an Innovative Solution for Healthcare in Aging Society”. Functional ingredients with health benefits from natural sources as alternatives for health and wellness of aging population and related topics will be addressed.

Fi Asia 2018 will be held at Jakarta International Expo, Indonesia, October 3-5.
