BENEO to Tackle Dietary Fiber Topics at IFT FIRST 2026

BENEO, an ingredient supplier, is going to discuss the emerging consumer interest in dietary fiber at IFT FIRST 2026, the event that takes place in Chicago from July 12 to 15.

The Fibermaxxing trend seems to be growing in popularity, raising awareness about the dietary fiber gap. According to BENEO, this heightened consumer interest presents an opportunity for manufacturers to develop products that offer meaningful nutritional benefits through fibre diversity rather than simply higher fibre content.

Kyle Krause, the Regional Product Manager for Functional Fibers and Carbohydrates at BENEO, stated: “Fiber isn’t just having a trendy moment; it has become one of the most in-demand nutrients. However, its health benefits are not about quantity, it’s more about balance.”

To support product developers, BENEO is highlighting several ingredient solutions solutions from its fiber portfolio, including Orafti β-Fit wholegrain barley flour, which combines multiple fibre types to support satiety and heart health, chicory root fibre and short-chain fructo-oligosaccharides for sugar reduction and fibre enrichment, and combinations of fibre with plant proteins from faba beans and rice to improve nutrient density.

The company notes that formulation expertise is increasingly important because different fibre types interact differently within food matrices. By combining complementary fibres, manufacturers can enrich products nutritionally while preserving their sensory characteristics.

BENEO also highlights nutrient density as an emerging product development focus, particularly in response to growing GLP-1 medication use, where smaller food portions increase demand for products that deliver more nutrition per serving. According to the company, combining fibre with plant-based proteins offers manufacturers an opportunity to address multiple consumer health priorities simultaneously, including gut health, satiety and muscle maintenance.

BENEO is presenting these ingredient concepts at booth S425 during IFT FIRST 2026 in Chicago, where visitors can explore applications centred on fibre enrichment, sugar reduction, and nutrient-dense formulations.
