The Austrian company Anton Paar launched the new TwinLab B-TSE-S 30/40, a pilot-scale twin-screw extruder designed to bridge laboratory development and small-scale production while reducing the need for costly full-scale manufacturing trials. The new product is part of their TwinLab collection and was released in June 2026.
The flagship TwinLab B-TSE-S 30/40 features a 30 mm screw diameter, 2×150 Nm maximum screw torque, operating speeds of up to 1,200 rpm, processing pressures of 300 bar, processing temperatures up to 450°C, and a throughput range of 5 to 100 kg/hour.
The standalone system is intended for manufacturers and researchers working with polymers, food products, pharmaceuticals, battery materials and other extrudable compounds.
The extruder incorporates Anton Paar’s MetaBridge software platform, which serves as the central operating and monitoring system. The browser-based software enables users to monitor extrusion processes remotely, automatically records production data, and exports results in Excel, CSV and PDF formats.
Among the system’s key features is a horizontal clamshell barrel that opens at the push of a button, providing direct access to liners and screws for faster cleaning, maintenance and configuration changes.
To improve process flexibility, the TwinLab B-TSE-S 30/40 features software-configurable sensor and actuator channels, allowing additional equipment to be integrated without hardware modifications. The platform supports feeders, pumps, downstream processing systems and third-party peripherals through centralized process management within MetaBridge.
