Handtmann Introduces New Dough Dividing System for Delicate Doughs
Handtmann Processing has introduced the VF 850 S, a new dough dividing system designed for industrial bakery production and the processing of a wide range of dough types, including delicate and high-hydration doughs.
The system combines the VF 850 S portioning and filling module with the SE 442-1 advanced cutting unit to provide continuous, oil-free dough dividing. The equipment is designed for applications including sandwich bread, pizza dough balls, pan bread, and other bakery products.
According to Handtmann, the system’s vane cell feed technology enables precise portioning, uniform product appearance, and reduced weight deviations. Flow-optimized product paths and large cross-sectional areas are intended to minimize the impact on the dough during processing, while an integrated filtration system prevents dust from entering the machine.
When paired with the WS 910 advanced process scale, the VF 850 S can also provide integrated weight control, helping manufacturers reduce product giveaway and improve portion consistency.
The system can be integrated with Handtmann forming and depositing technologies to support different production concepts. The FS 520 forming system combines dividing, forming, and depositing of soft and pre-proofed doughs, while the FS 510 integrates dividing, forming, and cutting for products including bread, baked goods, snacks, crackers, cookies, and bars.
Handtmann has also focused on operating efficiency and maintenance. The VF 850 S features extended service intervals, a service-friendly design, and energy- and media-efficient operation that has been independently verified by TÜV. The machine’s components are designed for long-term reliability and can be accessed easily for cleaning and maintenance.
The system is designed for hygienic production, with adjustable height, an operator-facing display, and low operating forces supporting ergonomics. The machine can be moved within the production area and transported to washdown zones, while product-contact components can be removed for dishwasher cleaning.
Digitalization is also available through Handtmann Digital Solutions (HDS), which offers options including cloud connectivity, production planning, process control, and network integration via Wi-Fi and Ethernet. The system also supports software updates, allowing manufacturers to adapt the equipment to future Industry 4.0 production requirements.
