Keells Supermarkets is rolling out Cybake ISB food forecasting and production planning software across its network of 148 stores in Sri Lanka as part of a wider effort to strengthen the management of its in-store bakeries and prepared food operations.
The Colombo-based retailer, a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings PLC, has already implemented the system in 23 stores, with the full rollout expected to be completed by September 2026.
Keells operates bakeries in every store alongside fresh food counters offering products including rice and curry dishes, salads, juices, doughnuts and pizza. The Cybake ISB platform is designed to help store teams forecast demand, plan production and manage daily bakery and fresh food operations.
According to Cybake, the software provides production guidance to store employees through tablets, helping teams produce the right quantities at the right time. The platform also gives central management greater visibility into store operations, supporting production planning, reducing waste and improving coordination across the network.
“Our partnership with Cybake is an important step in the transformation of our prepared food business,” said Visal Perera, Head of Fresh Departments at Keells Supermarkets and Vice President of John Keells Group.
“As we continue to scale, having the right systems and processes in place is critical to ensuring consistent availability, reducing waste, and delivering a better experience for our customers. Cybake provides us with the visibility and planning capabilities needed to support our growth ambitions while maintaining operational excellence across our network.”
Cybake, headquartered in York, UK, supplies bakery ERP software to supermarkets, retail bakery chains and forecourt operators. Its Cybake ISB solution is used to forecast demand and manage the production of fresh food prepared in-store.
“Keells is such an impressive operation with a big focus on the quality of the fresh food it makes in its stores. As part of this project, I went to Sri Lanka and saw, first-hand, how committed the company is to operational excellence and their bold and innovative food-to-go plans,” said Ali Lyons, CEO of Cybake.
“I am extremely proud that Keells chose Cybake to optimise its excellent prepared food counters and bakeries. Rollout will be complete by the end of September, and I can’t wait to return to Sri Lanka to see the results for myself.”
