Finsbury Food Group launched two limited edition Scotland and England Cupcakes on June 1, designed to capture the spirit of the World Cup season of this summer. The cupcakes will be sold in Tesco stores across the U.K., available for 6.00 per pack with 9 vanilla cupcakes.
The England cupcakes are decorated with swirls of red and white frosting, finished with edible England crests. The Scotland ones are ornated with blue and white frosting, arranged within the carton to recreate the flag design, which also includes edible Scotland logos.
The product was created in partnership with the Scottish Football Association and the English Football Association. The launch marks the first time Finsbury Food Group has created cupcakes for a major international football competition. It also adds to the bakery manufacturer’s growing portfolio of football partnerships, which already includes Celtic F.C., Rangers F.C. and Liverpool F.C.
Andrew Scott, the Brand Manager at Finsbury Food Group, said: “The World Cup always creates a huge sense of excitement and togetherness, so we wanted to create products that fans up and down the country could enjoy during the competition. […] We’re always looking for new ways to bring excitement to the bakery category, and these products are a great example of that.”
