The Rustik Oven Announces New Line of Sourdough Bagels
The Rustik Oven, an artisan packaged bread brand owned by Bimbo Bakeries USA, launched a new line of artisan-style sourdough bagels on August 25. The product is available in three varieties: Sourdough, Hearty Grains & Seeds, and Lemon Blueberry, being available across the US.
The decision to bring this product to life was made due to sourdough being one of the fastest-growing bakery trends of 2026, according to the Puratos October 2025 report, The Hottest Bakery Trends for 2026.
Mollie Crudden, Senior Director Marketing, Artisan Portfolio at Bimbo Bakeries USA, stated: “Consumers increasingly want great-tasting foods that bring something special to everyday meals, but that doesn’t mean they always have hours to spend in the kitchen, […] At The Rustik Oven, we believe your time should be spent enjoying great bread and imagining all the delicious ways to serve it. With our new artisan-style bagels and ‘The Bread You’d Make If You Made Bread’ campaign, we’re giving consumers a convenient way to enjoy the sourdough taste they crave while leaving more time for the fun part—deciding what to put on top.”
The brand stated that for the bagels to come to life, their sourdough bread recipe was utilized, where a 12-hour fermentation process along with slow baking are being used.
