ABA and AIB Launch Collaboration to Elevate Food Safety Standards and Resources in Baking
The American Bakers Association and AIB Education and Research announced on June 26 a new strategic collaboration to provide food safety resources for the commercial baking industry. The two organizations came to this decision to offer expertise that helps baking manufacturers continue their operational excellence. This will be realized through a Bakery Playbook series on Food Safety. The ABA brings their popular Bakery Playbook format and the insights of its member community, while AIB expertise in food safety and guidance development polishes the project and completes it.
Developed by the two collaborates, this initiative’s first Playbook in the series will be released in 2027. It will deliver practical, bakery-specific guidance to ensure that the industry keeps up with food safety standards. The Playbook is also going to provide baking companies with benchmarking data and actionable tools.
The Bakery Playbook is meant to serve as a roadmap for food safety excellence in commercial baking. The first one of the series promises to come with additional topics, research findings and implementation tools to be announced as the initiative progresses.
