Bunge Global SA has entered into a purchase agreement with Solae to acquire the lecithin, soy protein concentrate and crush operations of International Flavours and Fragrances (IFF). The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2025 subject to customary conditions and adjustments. Financial terms have not been disclosed.
The business generated around USD240m in revenue for IFF in 2024 and employs about 250 people worldwide. IFF said the divestment will allow it to focus on its higher-margin isolated soy protein activities.
For Bunge, the deal strengthens its global soy portfolio. The St. Louis-based group is a major processor of oilseeds such as soybeans and canola, supplying food, feed and biofuel industries. It recently expanded its footprint with the USD8.2bn merger with Viterra, completed in July 2025, consolidating operations across key producing regions including Brazil, the US and Argentina.
The addition of IFF’s lecithin and soy protein assets complements Bunge’s strategy to integrate commodity processing with value-added ingredients for food and nutrition markets.
