KPM Analytics has opened a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Trento, Italy, to support rising global demand for advanced vision inspection systems from the baking and snack food industry.
The 22,000 sq ft site in Pergine Valsugana will become the new hub for KPM’s EyePro System brand, which specialises in AI-powered, in-line inspection solutions. The expansion more than doubles the company’s production capacity for systems including Q-Bake™, EyePro Laner, and TheiaVu® E-Series, widely used to monitor product quality attributes such as colour, shape, size, topping distribution, and foreign object contamination.
“This facility expansion is a direct response to the growing needs of our customers, who are under increasing pressure to meet rigorous quality standards,” said Andrea Bertuolo, General Manager for Vision Inspection Technologies at KPM Analytics.
Beyond manufacturing, the site will offer customer training, factory acceptance testing, and hands-on demonstrations. It will also house dedicated R&D for AI and hyperspectral imaging to enhance foreign material detection.
The facility strengthens KPM Analytics’ support for baking and snack producers facing tighter quality specs and higher volumes. “The ability to catch defects or contamination instantly—not downstream—is essential,” said CEO Brian Mitchell. “This investment ensures we keep pace with customer expectations and continue innovating with them.”
KPM acquired EyePro System in 2021 and has since expanded its footprint with similar projects in the U.S., Canada, and France. The new Italian facility brings the company’s global manufacturing and support network to 12 locations.
