Fox’s Burton’s Companies (FBC) has announced a major innovation under its flagship Maryland brand with the launch of Maryland S’wich—the UK’s first chocolate chip cookie sandwich biscuit.
Marking the first format change for Maryland in over a decade, Maryland S’wich combines the brand’s signature crunchy chocolate chip cookies with a smooth chocolate cream filling. The new product will debut in Tesco and Booker on 16 July (150g, RRP £1.50), with wider rollout to all major UK retailers and wholesalers in August.
FBC is positioning Maryland S’wich as a disruptor in the sandwich biscuit category, now valued at GBP196.6m. Backed by an 89% purchase intent score, the product is expected to boost category growth, appeal to a broader consumer base, and increase basket spend.
Maryland remains the UK’s top cookie brand, worth GBP72.4m. The S’wich launch will be supported by a multi-million-pound campaign across outdoor, in-store, digital and PR channels.
