Three innovative products, awarded at ISM 2015

Several hundred ISM visitors took the opportunity to take part in voting for the top innovations from the New Product Showcase of International Sweets and Biscuits Fair (ISM) 2015 in Cologne.

The prize was once again awarded on the morning of the third day of the fair. Here are the top winners:

1.         SoundyCandy® – Toller Gida San. ve Tic.A.S., Turkey

2.         Cho’Clair – Fairy, Belgium

3.         Secrets Dried Beetroots – Zweifel Pomy-Chips AG,  Switzerland

The three top products stand for the creativity and diversity of the international sweets and snacks industry, which met up for the 45th time at ISM.

A sweet was awarded first place: “SoundyCandy” is a patented innovation, which unites the characteristics of a sweet with the acoustic effect of crackling granules. The sweet develops its crackling effect in the mouth that is further reinforced by a warm or cold drink. The Turkish company Toller developed the product and had it patented.

Second place went to the Belgian manufacturer of filled chocolates, Fairy, for its creation “Cho’Clair” – a softly melting chocolate in the long shape of an éclair, which is attractively decorated and wrapped.

A snack product secured itself third place: “Secrets Dried Beetroots” by the Swiss family-owned company, Zweifel Pomy-Chips AG. The mixture between potato crisps and tender beetroot is seasoned with fine sea salt.

In total, 110 new products were presented this year in the New Product Showcase, where they are on display up until Wednesday, 4 February 2015, inclusively.

At ISM, from February 1-4, 2015 in Cologne, many of the more than 1500 suppliers from 65 countries have brought along interesting new developments to unveil. Always keen to respond to the different wishes of its customers, the sector offers a broad spectrum of chocolate and sugar confectionery, biscuits, nibbles and snacks for any taste.
