Bakery Products acquires Woodhead Bakery

UK Bakery Products Limited has acquired Woodhead Bakery and 11 of its retail outlets from its administrators.

Midlands-based Bakery Products is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Haldane Retail Group which owns a number of supermarkets trading under three separate fascias – Haldanes Stores, Haldanes Express and UGO.

Commenting on the acquisition, a spokesman for Bakery Products said: “The Woodhead bakery and shop portfolio represents an excellent fit within the existing Haldane Retail Group portfolio. It offers total vertical integration which will see the bakery supply, in due course, all Haldane Retail Group stores commencing with the initial 20 UGO stores.

“As with the Haldane Retail Group, Woodhead Bakery was a family-run business and shares many of the same ethics and values such as a focus on delivering unrivaled customer service and satisfaction.”
