Bakery China 2025 closed its doors after a record-breaking four-day run at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) in Shanghai, reaffirming its status as the world’s leading trade event for the bakery and confectionery sectors. This year’s show, themed Empowering Innovation, Bridging the Globe, Building the Future, brought together over 2,200 exhibitors and thousands of industry professionals from more than 130 countries and regions.
Exhibitors unveiled more than 10,000 innovations spanning the entire supply chain, including ingredient technologies, intelligent baking systems, health-driven formulations, sustainable packaging, and digital business tools. The event also debuted immersive showcases such as AI-powered production lines, live tastings of low-glycemic products, and augmented reality baking demonstrations — positioning the exhibition as a catalyst for the industry’s transition toward high-value, quality-led models.
“Belt and Road Bakery Corridor” Debuts
A key highlight was the launch of the Belt and Road Bakery Corridor, promoting cross-cultural exchange through traditional techniques, regional ingredients, and culinary fusion. The initiative underscored Bakery China’s growing role in global engagement, with over 3,000 business matchmaking sessions hosted across trade talks, supermarket sourcing summits, and e-commerce partnerships.
Knowledge Sharing, Competitions, and Innovation Zones
This year’s edition also emphasised industry education and skill development. Signature events included the Top Patissier of Asia 2025, national qualifiers for the Bakery World Cup and World Pastry Cup, and new competitions in artisanal pizza, specialty coffee, and modern pastry.
More than 20 expert-led forums explored critical topics such as AI in retail, sustainable packaging breakthroughs, digital transformation strategies, and regulatory trends — drawing record participation from senior leaders and professionals across the value chain.
Specialised zones such as Bakery China Innovation Talk, the Belt and Road Bakery Corridor, and the 7th Bread & Coffee Festival offered hands-on learning and consumer engagement, reinforcing the event’s commitment to advancing the industry through innovation and collaboration.
