Nexture Targets GLP-1-driven Reformulation with Integrated Ingredient Portfolio

Nexture is positioning its ingredient platform to address the rapid rise of GLP-1 therapies, as food manufacturers adapt formulations to shifting consumption patterns and nutritional priorities.

The company has introduced a portfolio of ready-to-implement solutions designed to support the development of nutrient-dense products without compromising sensory quality. The move comes as GLP-1 adoption accelerates globally, reshaping eating habits, portion sizes and consumer expectations.

According to Root Analysis, the GLP-1 market is projected to grow from USD 101.4bn in 2026 to USD 180bn by 2035, at a CAGR of 8.7%. Meanwhile, data from Circana indicates that usage already reaches around 23% of households in the United States.

Valerie Diele-Braun, CEO of Nexture, said the trend represents “one of the most complex formulation challenges in decades,” as manufacturers balance nutrient density with taste and texture. The company is focusing on protein and fibre enrichment alongside sugar and fat reduction to support consumers managing weight and potential side effects linked to GLP-1 therapies.

Nexture’s offering spans multiple applications, including sweet baked goods, bread, snacks, dairy and plant-based alternatives, ready meals and beverages. The portfolio integrates solutions from group companies such as HIFOOD, Frulact, CSM Ingredients and Italcanditi.

Within its multi-functional systems, Nexture highlights fibre-based solutions that enable sugar reduction while maintaining texture and mouthfeel across applications such as bakery, snacks and beverages. Additional offerings include high-fibre fruit preparations, reduced-sugar fruit inclusions and protein-enriched baking mixes.

The company also provides targeted solutions, including soluble fibre systems for high-fibre claims, protein ingredients designed for neutral taste and process stability, and reduced-fat emulsions for laminated bakery products.

As GLP-1 therapies continue to influence dietary behaviour, Nexture’s strategy reflects a broader industry shift towards “nutritional efficiency” in product development, combining functional benefits with sensory performance across bakery and wider food categories.
