Britannia Industries, India’s largest biscuit maker, has said it plans to continue investing in its rapidly expanding bakery business.

The company said it will put in up to Rs.2.4bn (€37m) to set up four new bakery manufacturing units across India to boost capacity.
Vinita Bali, MD of Britannia, said the additional units are being constructed as the company’s bakery business is “growing at over 20%”. The first factory will open in the state of Bihar, followed by two more in Orissa and Karnataka, with the last location not having been specified.
