Ghirardelli Chocolate Company has entered the refrigerated baking category with the launch of its first-ever premium refrigerated cookie dough range, extending the brand’s presence beyond baking chips and mixes into ready-to-bake products.
The new line is available in two varieties: Classic Chocolate Chip and Chocolate Chip Brownie. According to the company, both products are designed to deliver a homemade-style cookie experience while offering the convenience of refrigerated dough that can be baked in minutes.
The Classic Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough is inspired by Ghirardelli’s premium baking chips and is formulated to produce cookies with crispy edges and chewy centres. The Chocolate Chip Brownie Cookie Dough draws inspiration from the company’s Double Chocolate Chip Premium Brownie Mix and aims to deliver a fudgy texture and rich chocolate flavour.
“We wanted to create a cookie dough that captured everything people love about homemade cookies fresh from the oven – the rich aroma, a warm gooey center and melty chocolate chips – but with the ready-made convenience straight from the refrigerator,” said David Dulyx, Vice President of Licensing and Professional Products Division for Ghirardelli.
“Whether it’s for a late-night cookie craving or a ‘just because’ dessert moment, our cookie dough has the signature chocolate flavor people know and love from Ghirardelli in every bite.”
The dough is supplied in pre-portioned rounds that can be baked in either a conventional oven or an air fryer. Ghirardelli said the format eliminates preparation steps such as measuring ingredients or mixing dough.
The launch marks the company’s first move into the refrigerated aisle and broadens its baking portfolio as consumers continue to seek convenient at-home baking solutions.
The products are now available nationwide in the United States, with retail pricing starting at USD 4.97. Initial distribution includes Walmart and Giant Eagle stores, with availability at Target, Publix, Kroger-family banners and additional retailers planned later in the season.
Founded in San Francisco in 1852, Ghirardelli is one of the few large-scale US chocolate manufacturers that oversees the entire chocolate-making process, from cocoa bean sourcing through to finished products. The company says this integrated approach supports consistency and quality across its chocolate portfolio.
