Franke’s New A Line wins iF DESIGN AWARD 2026 for product design

Franke Coffee Systems has received the iF DESIGN AWARD 2026 in the Product Design category for its New A Line, recognising its performance-focused approach to professional coffee equipment.

Organised by the iF Design Foundation in Germany, the award is among the industry’s most established design benchmarks. This year’s edition attracted more than 10,000 entries from 68 countries, with the New A Line selected by an independent international jury.

The fully automatic coffee platform was developed to deliver consistent, premium in-cup quality across high-demand environments such as hotels, bakeries, cafés and convenience retail. Its design combines advanced brewing technology with an intuitive operating system, FrankeOS, and a visual, user-led interface aimed at simplifying workflows.

Franke positions the New A Line as a solution for operators balancing speed, customisation and consistency—key requirements in busy foodservice and bakery settings. The integrated system architecture is designed to reduce operational complexity while maintaining beverage quality standards.

The machine also reflects a focus on durability and sustainability. Core components are manufactured from stainless steel to support long service life, while selected parts incorporate recycled plastics to reduce environmental impact.

Gianluca Vigato, Vice President Global Marketing at Franke Coffee Systems, said the award highlights the role of design in improving operational performance and delivering long-term value.

Since its launch, the New A Line has formed part of Franke’s strategy to expand its fully automatic portfolio. Built on a modular platform, the system enables operators to scale beverage offerings and manage peak demand without compromising speed or consistency.

The recognition underlines the growing importance of design-led functionality in professional coffee solutions serving bakery and food-to-go environments.
