Palsgaard Joins Program for Sustainable Development Goals

Emulsifier specialist Palsgaard has been invited to participate at Sustainable Development Goals: the SDG Accelerator program. This is an initiative of the United Nation Development Program (UNDP) and is funded by The Danish Industry Foundation.

A VIP event held in Copenhagen, Denmark, on March 20, marks the next step in the initiative and it will be tested in Denmark in 2018 and 2019 with 30 small and medium-sized industrial companies. Subsequently, the aim is to roll the programmed out across Scandinavia before taking it global.

Palsgaard signed up for the program in late 2017, seeing it as a good fit for the company’s record in sustainability. The emulsifier manufacturer is the first large ingredients producer to become carbon-neutral for the vast majority of its production, for example, and also the first to offer a full product range of emulsifiers produced using 100% RSPO certified sustainable, segregated palm oil.

Since signing up for the program, the company has spent considerable time in discussions with the UNDP and the other participants in the SDG Accelerator program.

Claus Hviid Christensen, CEO of Palsgaard’s independent innovation company, Nexus A/S, is one of the top managers attending the event. He is optimistic about the program’s prospects: “This is a next-step opportunity to share ideas with the United Nation Development Program (UNDP), the Danish Industry Foundation, advisory board members and the participating companies to build a better future for everyone through SDG Accelerator,” he comments.
