Scottish Bakers Association Announces New Leadership

Scottish Bakers Association (SBA) announces Alasdair Smith as its new CEO, starting January 8, 2018.

Alasdair comes with experience in skills and education, as he spent nine years with SQA & SCOTVEC.  Alasdair has achieved his Masters in Business Administration at Strathclyde Graduate Business School along with Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration at University of Strathclyde.

Scottish Bakers was established in 1891; the association represents and promotes interests of the bakery trade in Scotland. It aims to be an integral part of each member’s business operation, providing a range of specialist support services for bakeries of all sizes. “Our vision and mission is to be recognized by the Scottish Bakery Trade as a world class Trade Association supporting our members to effectively and efficiently meet the needs of their customers and to be recognized by all stakeholders as the authoritative voice of the bakery trade in Scotland,” the association elaborates in the announcement.

SBA has established the World Championship Scotch Pie Awards as well as Scottish Baker of the Year Awards.
