Top Cake Decorators to Compete at 2025 IBIE in Las Vegas

The 24th Annual Pillsbury Bakers’ Plus Creative Cake Decorating Competition will return this fall, bringing top-tier talent and high-stakes artistry to the show floor at the International Baking Industry Exposition (IBIE) in Las Vegas. Hosted by the Retail Bakers of America (RBA), the event runs September 14–17, 2025, and promises a front-row look at some of the best professional cake decorating in the world.

Held at the RBA Retail Bakers Center, the live competition is one of IBIE’s most anticipated highlights. Six two-person teams will go head-to-head in four creative categories: wedding cake, rolled fondant, buttercream, and sculpted cake. A panel of celebrity and master baker judges will evaluate the designs, while live commentary offers expert insights to attendees.

“The competition is more than a contest—it’s a celebration of artistry, precision, and technical expertise,” said RBA Executive Director Marissa Velie. “IBIE offers these elite decorators a platform to gain recognition from those who truly understand what it takes to excel in this craft.”

Winners will take home the Pillsbury Bakers’ Plus Grand Champion Trophy, along with gold, silver, and bronze medals and cash prizes for top scores in each category.

The competition is open to professional cake decorators, pastry chefs, and sugar artists with at least two years of experience. Applications are due by Saturday, May 31. Selected participants will be notified by June 20 and will receive complimentary expo passes, access to over 250 educational sessions, three nights of hotel accommodation, and a travel stipend.
