GreenPalm, the certificate-trading programme that promotes RSPO sustainable palm oil, is calling on businesses to act now to ensure they are supporting sustainable production – or risk being left behind by more responsible competitors.
With pressure from consumers, retailers and global environmental campaigners like the WWF and Oxfam rising, GreenPalm is offering free sustainability clinics to any business that visits the company stand at the UK Pavilion, Hall 10.2, Stand E-60a, Anuga, Cologne, from 8-12 October, 2011.
As part of the clinic, businesses will be able to have a 15 minute, one-to-one conversation with someone from GreenPalm. The representative will answer any questions about palm oil, sustainable production and RSPO certification, and can advise on the best way forward for those that are looking to support RSPO sustainable production.
Supporting the production of RSPO sustainable palm oil has become a hot topic, as calls from consumers, the media, governments and leading charities have helped to push for big changes across the industry.
These changes are being driven by a desire to combat poor working conditions, unliveable wages, and the rapid destruction of the rainforest and endangered species in Indonesia and Malaysia.
