MycoTechnology has received FEMA GRAS status for its new ClearHT natural flavor, paving the way for its use as a flavor with modifying properties (FMP) in a wide range of food and beverage applications. The designation by the Flavor and Extract Manufacturers Association enables its use in markets that recognize FEMA GRAS determinations, with commercial availability expected by early 2026.
ClearHT is derived from the honey truffle, a rare fungus with a rich history of culinary use. It is the latest addition to MycoTechnology’s portfolio of taste-modulating ingredients. At low inclusion levels, the flavor enhances notes such as citrus and caramel, while supporting sugar reduction—addressing growing consumer demand for healthier, better-tasting products.
“This is a significant milestone in our efforts to expand the availability of our ingredient solutions to global markets,” said Sue Potter, Vice President, Global Regulatory Affairs at MycoTechnology.
CEO Jordi Ferre added, “ClearHT reflects our ongoing commitment to innovation and clean-label solutions. Achieving FEMA GRAS status affirms its safety and positions us to support customers in creating food and beverages that deliver on both taste and nutrition.”
