Kraft Foods Inc has officially opened its new pizza plant in the US.
The 108,000 square foot expansion, which includes a new pizza crust bakery line and an assembly line, will create 300 jobs at the plant in Little Chute, Wisconsin.
Tim Cofer, president of Kraft Pizza, said: “This major expansion shows our commitment to Wisconsin and gives us the capacity we need to maintain our strong momentum. We are extending our industry leadership by making more of the highest-quality pizzas and frozen meals.”
Kraft Foods’ brands also include California Pizza Kitchen, DiGiorno, Tombstone and Jack’s. The company is ranked as the number one frozen pizza vendor in America with sales of over $1.2 million dollars a year. More than 75 per cent of the cheese used on Kraft pizzas is from Wisconsin and almost all of its pizzas are produced locally.
