Loders Croklaan has introduced two shortening products designed to reduce saturated fat and eliminate trans fat in such applications as cookies, cakes and muffins.

SansTrans VLS 40, an emulsified shortening, offers formulators the ability to reduce saturated fat up to 15 per cent and decrease annual shortening costs by up to 10 per cent.
