Backaldrin has opened a new Innovation and Research Centre in Austria to introduce new staged initiatives for the future.
The new extension to the premises will create around 50 new jobs, mainly in the area of research and development.
In order to be able to determine the right approach for the future, ‘backaldrin’ has instituted a new and innovative research centre.
In the new extension to the premises, a seventh bakery centre among other things will be introduced, multi-functional roomspace as well as new offices.
“This will guarantee for the future our high and modern technological standards”, explained ‘Mr. Kornspitz’ – Peter Augendopler, the proprietor of ‘backaldrin’.
The ground-breaking ceremony for the new premises was in the middle of December 2011. The actual building should be completed and occupational by the autumn of 2012.
The extension to the premises will create 50 new jobs in the areas of bakeries, laboratory and research for master bakers and bakery technologists, polytechnic graduates and academic specialists.
The facility also includes a bakery for apprentices and represents a capital investment for the future in the training of future bakers.
Baker apprenticeships at ‘backaldrin’ have always been deemed of considerable importance. Principal emphasis is laid on fundamental research into pastry- technologies and -processing, in taking innovative raw materials into consideration, as for example healthy additive benefits.
