Cargill has announced the formation of a new business unit, Cargill Specialty Asia, to better serve customers in the Asia-Pacific region with Cargill’s broad portfolio of specialty food ingredients and application capabilities, including texturizers and health and nutrition ingredients.
“With the creation of Cargill Specialty Asia, we are significantly sharpening our focus on the needs of customers in the Asia-Pacific region. Our intent is to work more closely with our customers to deliver distinctive value by providing innovative solutions built around Cargill’s specialty ingredient portfolio and application capabilities,” said Yusuf Wazirzada, Business Unit Leader, Cargill Specialty Asia.
Cargill Specialty Asia utilizes consumer insights, product knowledge, applications and regulatory expertise to help customers capitalize on the growing demand for healthier, great tasting consumer packaged goods in the Asia-Pacific region.
Over 400 Cargill professionals are focused on providing food, beverage and nutritional supplement solutions through a broad portfolio of specialty food ingredients, including starches, hydrocolloids, lecithins, functional systems (ingredient blends), and specialty sweeteners that address specific product functionality issues or deliver specific benefits such as reduced saturated fat.
Cargill Specialty Asia comprises the employees, manufacturing footprint and operations of Cargill Texturizing Solutions and Cargill Health & Nutrition in the Asia-Pacific region (except for the Cargill Health & Nutrition activities in Japan).
Cargill Specialty Asia has business operations in 13 countries, including five manufacturing facilities in Mainland China (Beijing, Tianjin, Zibo, Wuhan and Gedian), one manufacturing facility in the Philippines (Canlubang) and sales offices across the Asia region.
With four application centers located in Beijing, Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo, Cargill Specialty Asia is also able to promptly respond to the application and development needs of our customers in the region.
